Adrienne is the newest member of the French Country Waterways fleet of five fine French barges. The theme of Adrienne is 18th century French style!
The custom-made furniture is adorned with intricate woodcarving and rich fabrics. The rich color scheme of crimson, ecru and caramel continues the theme. An antique gold mirror and matching sconces glow above the bar while the dining room furniture showcases the graceful curves of Louis XV - style tables, chairs and buffets. Thoughtful, modern conveniences are not neglected: Central air-conditioning, granite and marble bathrooms and both 110 and 220 electrical outlets in the cabins. There is a total of six in crew on Adrienne, including a senior French Country Waterways captain.
Adrienne cruises in 2009 on one of barging’s most beloved routes - the Cote d’Or Burgundy. The high point has to be Beaune with it’s well-preserved Medieval core and gorgeous 15th - century Hospice. After a tour of the Hospice, browse in the surrounding pedestrian streets - or what about a cafe in the square? Family-owned chateaux, vineyards, bicycling and adorable towns characterize this region.
As on all French Country Waterways vessels, included is one dinner ashore at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Here you’ll dine at the renowned Lameloise.
Cruising on Adrienne is the complete luxury barge experience - in one of France’s most famed regions!

Adrienne Guest Book
"Fantastic! So enjoyable that we are thinking of a trip net summer to the Champagne region. An easy and effortless waws to travel."
-Lorene Randall and Ellen Winspear, 2009
"The Adrienne staff made my 50th birthday one to remember. They had a special birthday dinner for me on Wednesday evening and it was just delightful. Cyril our wonderful (and cute) chef made a beautiful cake with sparklers and the rest of the passengers presented me with a wonderful card. I was amazed that even with our VERY different and diverse backgrounds and experiences that we all got along famously. Glen the Captain was a perfect host. he is so knowledgable about the history of France and the region and did a great job sharing it with all of us. This cruise was made for us with the detailed explanations of wines, cheeses and history. WE LOVED IT!"
-Sue Reddel and Diana Laskaris, 2009
"We're just back from our week on the Adrienne and I wanted to give you a heartfelt thank you. The trip, to put it mildly, was magnificent from start to finish! We were treated like royalty by Captain Glen and the crew. The chef, Cyril, took such great care with my special dietary needs that I didn't have to worry about a thing. All of the meals were exquisite and beautifully presented. The girls, Deb and Claire, were so quick to attend to our every comfort - we would be out of our cabins less than five minutes and they would somehow manage to sneak in and clean before we could turn around. Captain Glen was very charming and gracious - his knowledge of the region history, area wines, and local attractions kept us enthralled at all times.
And last, but certainly not least, you were just an absolute pleasure to work with! Every single thing went off without a hitch - including the special birthday cake and champagne that was delivered to my mom's room at the Rafael. The entire adventure was so much more than any of us expected, but most importantly, my mom had the greatest birthday ever. Thank you so much for your hard work and expert knowledge!"
-Pam Stewart and Family, 2009
"The barge was very well-appointed. The food and service were excellent. It was a wonderful time and I would recommend to anyone. This cruise surpassed our expectations."
-Mr. and Mrs. Eric Paulson, 2009
"Our time on the barge was equal parts food and wine, sightseeing and education of the region and its history, and relaxation. It was the perfect combination for us and the crew was superb."
-Brad and Marni Peck, 2008
"Both Donna and I feel that all trips from now on will be compared to the Adrienne....We don't know how it would be possible to exceed the quality of the food/service/staff. The word "wonderful" doesn't begin to do justice to how we found everything. I'm not a champagne drinker, but gotta say that I thoroughly loved every single glass/vintage....the battlefield side trips, the dinner at Les Creyeres, etc. were like icing on the cake. Thanks for leading us to it."
-Bob and Donna Wahlert 2008
