The Tulip Season in Holland begins in early April and ends the third week of May - although the actual blooming period depends on spring weather patterns.Holland's waterways remain the heart of this fascinating country - which for centuries has been centered on its canal and rivers. Flowers star in April and May. You may visit at the right time to be driven through fields of tulips for as far as the eye can see. All barge cruises in Holland include a tour of Keukenhof Gardens, a 70-acre showcase of the Dutch flower industry open for nine weeks every spring. Here are seven million flowers on display - including 1000 varieties of tulips alone! Another impressive flower venue is Allsmeer Flower Auction, which you will also visit. Housed in the world's largest commercial building - it is the same area as nine football fields - and under one roof - the auction sets the worldwide price each day for millions of flowers and plants.
