In the afternoon, you will be met by a crew member of the Meanderer at the designated meeting point. From here, relax as you are chauffeured to the barge, moored in petite village of Montbouy. A traditional champagne welcome and introduction to the crew awaits. Enjoy an early evening cruise to the village of Montcresson and back. Stroll or cycle along the canal's towpath, and then return for the first of many gourmet dinners served onboard.

Relax on deck as the Meanderer cruises this morning through idyllic countryside. You’ll pass by the antique “Seven Locks of Rogny”, built in 1648 and still considered an engineering marvel today. Upon mooring, your Tour Guide escorts you to a chateau of your choice. The Chateau of Sully contains elaborate tapestries and regal 17th century furnishings; the world famous Chateau of Fontainebleau once belonged to the Kings of France. After a thorough exploration, return to the barge for drinks and dinner.

Visit a confectionery shop for pralines, which were first created here in the time of Louis XIII. An afternoon cruise offers the perfect opportunity to relax on deck with a glass of wine. Cocktails and canapes precede tonight's gourmet dinner.

Dating from the 10th century, the The Chateau of St. Fargeau is one of the finest examples of French architecture from this era, while Guedelon is a modern day castle construction site using only techniques and materials found in the Middle Ages. Your Tour Guide will escort you to either of these fascinating structures. Back onboard, this afternoon's cruise takes us over the Loire River at Briare on the “Pont Canal”, the famous aqueduct designed by Gustave Eiffel. Chef presents tonight's dinner.

A tour of the private Chateau La Bussiere and its incredible 18th century gardens follows. An optional visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Vezelay is highly recommended, as is a private visit to Chateau de Buranlure. Return to the barge for another sumptuous dinner.

Return to the barge and freshen up for cocktails and canapes before the farewell gala at tonight's Captain's Dinner.

For avid bicyclers, the Meanderer has always been an obvious choice, as barge owner George Kovalick is a passionate and enthusiastic cycler himself. George is honored to lead guests on bicycle rides of any length, and offers a comprehensive collection of 15 bicycles available from which guests can choose, including 9 TREK Ds 8.5 performance bikes and 6 Winora Hollywood High End City Bikes. Serious cyclists are welcome to bring their own pedals and clip shoes, as they can be fit on to the Treks. Highlights of the itinerary include exploring the extraordinary paths of the Loire A Velo; riding through the iconic Seven Locks of Rogny; and joining Captain George on a cycling expedition to the vineyards of Sancerre for a special winetasting.
