THE BEST TRAVEL WEEK OF OUR LIVES
Our group’s cruise on the Rendez-Vous was the best travel week of our lives. Everything was perfect! The crew was absolutely amazing.
The service was fantastic and we felt as if the crew were old friends by the end of the week.
Deckhand Emile not kept the barge looking flawless but also found fishing rods and helped Ric and Jae catch 25 lb carp! Hostess Sara-Lou has the kindest, most gentle spirit and a true servant’s heart and was always eager to help us with a big smile on her face.
TWO CABINS FOR OUR GROUP OF FOUR
The Rendez-Vous was very comfortable and met all of needs. The two cabins, which were recently redone, were nicely appointed, and perfect for our group of four.
From the ample amounts of storage to the king sized beds, the cabins were one of the best parts of the cruise.
The bathrooms were roomier than expected, and there was great water pressure too.
5-STAR DINING EVERY NIGHT
The food…where to begin? We felt like we were dining in a five-star restaurant every night. Pedro is an incredible chef, whipping up French classics with light, fresh touch. He welcomed us into the open kitchen and even taught Ric how to make the perfect beurre blanc sauce with a lightly seared scallop.
Chef Pedro went out his way to make sure each dish was perfect. Every meal was better than the one before!
The crew also explained what was in each dish and how it was prepared, along with why certain recipes were paired with certain wines.
SAILING THROUGH SOUTHERN BURGUNDY
Whether our group was relaxing on the deck or watching the scenery slip by from the salon, the daily cruising was wonderful. No matter where we were onboard we always had a full glass! Of course, going through the many locks along the Canal de Bourgogne was fantastic too.
Captain Arnault’s extensive knowledge of local history along the canal made each day’s cruise really come to life.
Southern Burgundy is really beautiful. We loved disembarking in the afternoons to tour the ancient chateaux and see the preserved cathedrals with our own private guide, Mairi. She has such a fun upbeat attitude and was the perfect Tour Guide. She found a wonderful bike trip for us where we rode through the vineyards and ended up a beautiful old church for a winetasting!
THE PERFECT FIT FOR US
Once again The Barge Ladies came through with an incredible experience, suggesting the Rendez-Vous as the perfect fit for us and offering wonderful service right up until boarding.
The cruise itself could not have been improved upon in our opinion, and we have wonderful memories for a lifetime.
In fact, we enjoyed it so much and recommended it so highly that two of our kids and their spouses are now considering going in next year. — Beth L.
