After breakfast, your Tour Guide presents the extraordinary hilltop village of Bruniquel. With its medieval stone houses, cobbled streets, and two castles overlooking the Aveyron Gorge, Bruniquel is a place of charm, history, and sweeping views. Return to the barge for a lazy afternoon cruise, gliding through tranquil countryside and fertile farmlands. Tonight, drinks and dinner are served onboard.
This morning, your Tour Guide introduces one of Occitanie’s celebrated rosy-hued cities, Montauban. Terracotta façades glow in the morning light, elegant boulevards unfold beneath leafy plane trees, and handsome squares hum with café life. Enjoy time to stroll, shop, and soak up the irresistible atmosphere of southern France. Return to Élégance for a leisurely afternoon cruise. Cocktails and canapes precede tonight’s gourmet dinner party onboard.
Croissants and coffee begin the day. Later this morning, indulge in a hosted winetasting at a prestigious local domaine, where each carefully poured glass expresses the distinctive Gascon terroir. Continue with a visit to a working dairy, discovering the craft and tradition behind the region’s farmhouse cheeses, followed, naturally, by generous tastings. Your Tour Guide returns you to the Elegance for an afternoon cruise. Savor sunset cocktails and canapes on deck or in the salon before enjoying this evening's dinner party onboard.
Begin the day at Castelsarrasin's morning market. Mingle with locals as you browse the seasonal produce and regional specialities. Begin to cruise in the early afternoon, enjoying lunch while gliding across the 1,000-foot aqueduct over the Tarn River, then descend through locks into the heart of Moissac. Upon mooring, disembark to explore the town’s centuries-old stonework and the magnificent Abbaye Saint-Pierre, famed for its Romanesque cloister. Return to the Elegance to freshen up before dinner ashore at a charming bistro.
A mid-morning drive through the countryside will take you to Auvillar, a magnificent village on the banks of the Garonne. Discover its half-timbered houses as well as the Old Auvillar Museum. This afternoon is dedicated to a relaxing cruise. Take a bicycle ride or relaxed ramble on the canal’s beautiful towpath, join your Captain in his wheelhouse, or laze in the topside hot tub. Tonight’s Farewell Feast provides an evening of refined dining as you reminisce about your journey on the Élégance through this authentic and historic region.
After breakfast, you will be chauffeured to the designated drop off point.
